Front Range Show Stables is a full-service hunter/jumper training center, located in Boulder, Colorado. FRSS specializes in ponies, hunters, jumpers, equitation, investment prospects, and sales. Front Range Show Stables is under the direction of owner and trainer, Claire Gordon-Neff. Claire has spent more than fifteen years instructing and training some of the country's best and brightest riders and their mounts. As a teacher and trainer, Claire possesses strong communication skills, a nurturing and challenging teaching style, all while maintaining professionalism and a sense of humor! Claire believes strongly in teaching horsemanship, emphasizing flat work and exercises to build a strong foundation. We strive for success at home and in the show ring, prioritizing horse and rider’s well-being and education above all else.
Claire's students have earned a multitude of accomplishments, including but not limited to: success in local and "AA" circuit competitions, qualifications for local and national medal finals, local, zone and regional year end awards, working student positions, internships, and employment with leaders in the horse industry nationally and abroad.
Claire has a diverse riding background, having experience in western pleasure, dressage, saddle seat, in addition to hunter seat riding. She believes that the foundation of all disciplines is the same and welcomes the opportunity to teach with a multi-disciplinary approach.
More than anything, Claire believes that customers should enjoy their horses and their experience by learning to be better, stronger, more accurate and confident riders!
“I’m primarily a dressage rider but I love to jump. I know Claire is an exceptionally correct trainer because with her sharp eye, knowledge of biomechanics, and clear communication, my jump lessons have given me tools that improve my dressage. Best of all, though, her lessons are so much fun."
"Claire’s positive attitude and emphasis on relaxing while riding have helped my mare and me to overcome a lot of the strenuous relationship we developed in other programs. After two years training with Claire, we are both now able to go to a show and be successful with very little stress. Claire has helped me to become an independent and effective rider on a variety of horses."
